Gabriel, who is a vibrant 9-year-old boy with autism, has recently achieved a fantastic milestone – he’s mastered biking without training wheels! This achievement isn’t just about biking; it’s about his growing independence and the joy he experiences while zipping around our block. However, his adventures are currently limited to just our neighborhood, and I believed with a little help, we can broaden his horizons significantly. We reached out to Avenues for Autism for financial assistance, and we’re thrilled to receive the equipment.

Thanks to Avenues for Autism’s Suzanne Tyner Fund, Gabriel has been able to take his biking adventures to the next level. The grant allowed us to purchase a high-quality bike that will grow with him, a helmet for safety, and a car hitch installation for accessible transportation. With these, Gabriel has been able to ride trails in our beautiful Toledo Metroparks, giving him a sense of adventure and freedom beyond our neighborhood, and allowing him to explore the world around him. This has not only increased his confidence but also provided him with calming sensory experiences in nature. We are so grateful for this incredible support and its lasting impact on Gabriel’s growth.
